Hassey Takes Third in B Singles on Final Day of Wake Invite

Liberty women's tennis player Mariely Hassey won her third-place match in the B Singles bracket during the final day of the Wake Forest Invitational on Sunday.
Hassey prevailed in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, over Navy's Rozel Hernandez. The senior went 3-1 in singles play during the three-day event and also won two doubles matches with fellow senior Emily Groeneveld.
Freshman Eugenia Camacho collected the first singles victory of her collegiate career on day three, besting Navy's Audrey Channell, 6-4, 6-3.
The Lady Flames will be back in action as a collective unit at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships, hosted by Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va., from Oct. 14-18.
