Liberty vs. Southern Illinois game notes
Liberty Flames Head Football Coach Turner Gill held his first weekly press conference of the season today in the Donor Room of the Williams Football Operations Center.
During the afternoon event, Gill recapped Liberty's 31-21 victory over No. 8/7 Montana in the first-ever Top 15 matchup at Williams Stadium. Gill also looked ahead to Liberty's road game at Southern Illinois, the first of four straight on the road for the Flames.
Following a question and answer period with Gill, Liberty senior quarterback Josh Woodrum fielded questions from the media. During this portion of the press conference, Woodrum recapped his performance against Montana, during which he became the second player in program history and third in Big South history with 8,000 career passing yards (8,222 yards).
