FCS Coaches and STATS FCS Top 25 polls
Liberty's position in both national FCS polls remained relatively unchanged following its road setback at Big 12 foe West Virginia on Saturday.
Liberty remained at No. 15 in the STATS FCS Top 25 poll, the same position it has held since the release of the organization's media poll in August.
Following Liberty's 41-17 loss to West Virginia at Milan Puskar Stadium, Liberty dropped one spot in the FCS Coaches poll to No. 14.
Jacksonville State saw the biggest movement in both national polls following the Gamecocks taking nationally ranked FBS opponent Auburn (No. 6) into overtime.
Jacksonville State took over the top spot in the STATS FCS Top 25 poll and is ranked No. 4 in the FCS Coaches poll. Coastal Carolina still remains atop the FCS Coaches poll and is ranked No. 2 behind Jacksonville State in the STATS FCS Top 25 poll.
The Flames will have a top 25 matchup on their hands this weekend when they welcome Montana to Williams Stadium. The Grizzlies enter the game ranked No. 7 in the FCS Coaches and No. 8 in the STATS FCS Top 25 poll.
Montana saw significant movement up the national polls following the Grizzlies' 38-35 win over four-time defending national champion North Dakota State to open the season.
Montana will be the third top 10 team Liberty has hosted at Williams Stadium in four seasons under Head Coach Turner Gill.
The Flames knocked off No. 6 Stony Brook, 28-14, on Nov. 10, 2012, Liberty's first win over a ranked team under Gill. The following season, Liberty lost a 55-52 double overtime thriller to No. 4 Coastal Carolina during Homecoming Weekend on Oct. 19.
Kickoff for Saturday night's game is slated for 7 p.m. During the contest, Liberty will honor its seventh Athletics Hall of Fame class - Eric Green (football), Mike Hatch (wrestling), Katie [Feenstra] Mattera (women's basketball), Sam Rutigliano (football coach) and Pat Sipe (baseball).
