FLAMESPY Award - Community Service Feature

Each year, Liberty student-athletes not only strive to excel on the field of competition, but they also continue to give back to the local Lynchburg community.
During Liberty's fourth annual FLAMESPY Award show in April, Liberty Athletics honored the community services of its student-athletes with the following videos.
Coordinated by Liberty's Academic Affairs for Athletics office, Liberty's student-athletes finished the 2014-15 academic year with 67 community outreach programs and 36 Lynchburg City school events.
During one community service initiative, Liberty hosted a Flames4Life week in partnership with Project Life Movement, where student-athletes raised awareness about bone cancers and collected a total of 1007 new registrants for the national bone marrow registry.
Liberty's Academic Affairs for Athletics office also held 46 student-athlete development workshops and seminars, which focus on academics, personal awareness, career planning, diversity training and financial responsibility.
