The 2014-15 award was presented as part of the Big South Conference's Spring Meetings Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner, which was held earlier this evening at The Marriott Resort on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
With this year's honor, Liberty has tied Coastal Carolina for the most Big South Women's All-Sports Awards (six each). Liberty and Coastal Carolina are the only two programs to win the honor since it was established 12 years ago.

Softball posted an 18-win improvement over the previous season, finishing the year with a 29-30 overall record and winning six of eigth conference series.
Coastal Carolina was awarded the 2014-15 Big South Sasser Cup and the Men's All-Sports Award. The Flames finished in second place to the Chanticleers in both listings.

In 2014-15, Coastal Carolina averaged 9.42 Sasser Cup points in 18 championship sports and accumulated a total of 169.50 points based on its finish in Conference championships in addition to two at-large NCAA berths.
Liberty finished second to Coastal Carolina this season with a 9.06 average in 18 sports and totaled 163 points -- marking the closest Sasser Cup finish (0.36) since 2006-07.
High Point was third in the standings (8.38 average), and was followed by Radford (7.55) and Campbell (7.35).
The Chanticleers won the Men's All-Sports Award for the third-straight year and sixth time overall with its average of 9.66 (77.25 points earned in eight sports), ahead of the Flames' 8.44 average (76 points earned in nine sports).
The Sasser Cup Trophy is named for former Big South Commissioner Buddy Sasser and is awarded to the Big South member institution with the most successful year athletically, based on an average points system.
Points are awarded for both regular-season and tournament finishes in each of the league's 19 championships, and the average of the combined total is used to determine the overall point allocation in the respective sport.
Teams selected for at-large NCAA berths receive one bonus point added to their average total in that sport.
A school must be eligible to participate in a specific sport championship to receive Sasser Cup points in that sport. Teams tied in regular-season or tournament play split the points earned. Each member's overall point totals are then divided by the number of sports sponsored by that school to determine the average.
