Lady Flames Tabbed 4th Seed for Big South Women's Tennis Championship

After recording the most wins in a single season in program history, including a program tying seven conference wins for the second year in a row, the Liberty women's tennis team has earned the No. 4 seed for the upcoming 2015 Big South Women's Tennis Championship. The Lady Flames (18-4, 7-2 BSC) will square off against No. 5 seed Campbell (10-9, 5-4 BSC) in the first round quarterfinals on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Asheville, N.C.
Earlier this season, on March 23, Liberty defeated Campbell on the road, 6-1. The Lady Flames are 5-3 all-time against the Camels, including four out of the last five outings. Wednesday's match will be the first time the two programs have squared off in the Big South Championship.
Charleston Southern earned its second consecutive No. 1 seed after clinching the Big South regular-season championship with an 8-1 record. Coastal Carolina claimed the No. 2 seed after posting an 8-1 conference mark, with the one loss coming against the Buccaneers.
Winthrop precedes Liberty as the No. 3 seed after finished 7-2 in Big South action. By virtue of head-to-head tiebreakers, the Eagles claimed the No. 3 seed. Campbell follows Liberty with the No. 5 seed after recording a 5-4 record.
Host UNC Asheville captures the No. 6 seed with a 3-6 Big South mark while Radford takes the No. 7 seed with an identical 3-6 conference stretch. Gardner-Webb claimed the No. 8 seed in the tournament following a 2-7 mark in conference play.
Presbyterian and Longwood tied in Big South action with a 1-8 record. The Blue Hose defeated the Lancers, giving Presbyterian the No. 9 seed and rounding out the seeding with Longwood in the No. 10 slot.
The 2015 Big South Women's Tennis Championship begins with three matches on Wednesday and concludes with the Big South Championship match on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Asheville, N.C.
