Catching Up with Liberty Softball's Kelby Allen

With the 2015 softball season about to get under way, Nick Pierce of the Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) had a chance to interview senior catcher Kelby Allen.
Allen, a native of Amarillo, Texas, has led the Lady Flames in home runs in each of the last two seasons. Last year, she batted .296 with nine doubles, nine home runs and a team-best 34 RBI. She hit two home runs in the first game of the 2014 Big South Softball Championship, an 8-5, comeback win over Gardner-Webb. She enters her senior season tied for ninth in program history with 23 career home runs and 10th in school history with 90 career RBI.
Allen and the rest of the Lady Flames open the 2015 season tomorrow in Gulf Shores, Ala., facing No. 23/23 South Alabama at 7 p.m. Eastern Time to start the Sand Dollar Classic.
