
Lady Flames Bump Up to No. 17 in Mid-Major Top 25

For the fourth straight week, the Big South-leading Liberty women's basketball team is ranked in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25. This week, the Lady Flames move up one position, to No. 17.
Since last week's poll was released, Liberty (16-6) has posted convincing victories over the Big South's second (High Point, 58-41) and third-place (Radford, 75-39) teams. The Lady Flames are now 12-1 in Big South play and own a two-game advantage over High Point with seven contests remaining.
The Lady Flames' 12 conference wins are the most of any NCAA Division I women's basketball team at this point in the season. Liberty is one conference victory ahead of No. 2/2 UConn (11-0, American) and Quinnipiac (11-0, MAAC) on that list.
Princeton, James Madison, Green Bay, Chattanooga and Florida Gulf Coast remain in the top five positions in the rankings, which are made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.
Liberty will wrap up a busy stretch of four games in eight days with a Thursday 11 a.m. contest at Gardner-Webb and a Saturday 7 p.m. home game versus Coastal Carolina.
