On Saturday, Liberty will celebrate Military Appreciation Day at Williams Stadium when they host the Blue Hose of Presbyterian College in a Big South battle.
As part of Military Appreciation Day, Liberty Athletics will hold a special halftime ceremony that will honor all branches of the armed forces. Today's video package highlights last year's halftime ceremony, giving fans a snapshot of what to expect during this weekend's contest.
Another highlight of Military Appreciation Day is the awarding of the George Rogers Champion of Freedom Award, named after World War II veteran George Rogers.
Previous honorees include George Rogers (2010), Steve Bozeman (2011), Tim Lee (2012), Clebe McClary (2013) and Oliver North (2014). This year's George Rogers Champion of Freedom Award winner is U.S. Army Major Michael Donahue. Click here to learn more about Major Donahue.
