The Flames take to the road for their final regular season road game this weekend when Liberty travels to Charleston, S.C., to face No. 11/8 Charleston Southern on Saturday.
The Buccaneers are riding a seven-game win streak, the fourth longest FCS winning streak in the country. Following its 28-14 road victory over Kennesaw State, Charleston Southern is atop of the Big South standings with an unblemished 5-0 conference record.
Overall, Charleston Southern is 8-1 and ranks No. 11 in the STATS FCS Top 25 poll and No. 8 in the FCS Coaches poll. The Buccaneers' current ranking is the highest in program history.
Charleston Southern enters this weekend's game having already clinched at least a share of the Big South title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs. With a win over Liberty on Saturday, the Buccaneers would be the league's first outright winner since 2011.
Charleston Southern has the nation's top ranked defense, as the Buccaneers are limiting opponents to 250.6 total offensive yards per game. Senior linebacker Aaron Brown leads the team with 55 tackles, followed by sophomore linebacker Zane Cruz with 44 stops.
Senior quarterback Austin Brown has completed 55.7 percent of his pass attempts (83-of-149) for 1,055 yards and seven touchdowns. Junior running backs Darius Hammond (687 yards, six touchdowns) and Mike Holloway (457 yards, nine touchdowns) have recorded 15 of the team's 24 rushing touchdowns.
