This summer, Liberty Flames Alex Close and Will Shephed played in the Pennisula Pilots of the Coastal Plains League. The league uses wooden bats instead of college baseball's aluminum ones.
LFSN's Rhett McGibbon visited with the pair earlier this summer. They discussed the differences of the bat, how they adjusted to summer ball and their return to Liberty this fall.
