
Catching Up with Trey Lambert and Parker Bean

With an unexpected day off at the 2014 Big South Baseball Championship today, LFSN's Nick Pierce had a chance to catch up with 2014 Big South Pitcher of the Year Trey Lambert and Big South Freshman of the Year Parker Bean.
Lambert ran his record to 11-2 with 7 2/3 scoreless innings during No. 1 seed Liberty's 3-0 win over No. 8 seed Gardner-Webb in their opening game of the Big South Championship, yesterday at Winthrop Ballpark. The senior right-hander leads the Big South Conference in wins and was also named the2014 Big South Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He has posted a 2.01 ERA over 98 2/3 innings this season.
Bean enters the Big South Championship with 7-2 record and a 2.64 ERA. The freshman leads the Flames with 75 strikeouts over 71 2/3 innings in 2014.
The No. 1 seed Liberty Flames will square off with the No. 4 seed High Point Panthers in Game 8 of the 2014 Big South Championship at Winthrop Ballpark, tomorrow evening. The contest is scheduled to begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of Game 7 between No. 2 seed Winthrop and No. 6 seed Coastal Carolina. That game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
