
2014 Football Season Recap with Coach Stamn

Liberty wrapped up the most memorable season in football program history last weekend with its NCAA FCS Playoffs second round matchup against No. 5/5 Villanova.
With the 2014 season still fresh on most fans' minds, the Liberty Flames Sports Network will provide a series of interviews to recap the season this week. The series continues today with an interview with third-year Offensive Coordinator Aaron Stamn.
The Flames finished the 2014 season ranked No. 35 in the country in scoring offense (32.0 points per game) and No. 39 in total offense (411.2 yards per game). Liberty finished the year with 448 total points scored, the second most points scored in a season in program history and the second year in a row Liberty has scored more than 400 points during a campaign.
Liberty's offense was properly honored following the regular season when seven players earned All-Big South honors (four first-team selections and three second-team honorees).
The Flames had a standout season in the red zone, ranking No. 9 in the country in red zone offense. Liberty scored 89.7 percent of the time it entered the red zone, including a perfect mark during the last five games of the year.
Liberty's offensive stars during the year were running back D.J. Abnar, quarterback Josh Woodrum and wide receiver Darrin Peterson.
Abnar had a breakout year, finishing the season ranked No. 4 in program single season history in rushing touchdowns (15) and rushing yards (1,289).
Woodrum finished the year with 2,947 passing yards, which ranks fifth in program history, and 19 touchdowns. The junior also rushed for a career-best nine touchdowns, which ranks tied for second in school history in quarterback rushing touchdowns.
Peterson set new program standards as the top wide receiver in the Big South. The junior finished the year with 1,379 receiving yards and 85 receptions, both new program single-season records, and 12 receiving touchdowns.
