The new-look Liberty women's basketball team held its first official practice of the 2013-14 season Monday afternoon inside the practice facility behind the Vines Center.
Head coach Carey Green's Lady Flames, who have won back-to-back Big South Championship titles and three straight Big South regular-season crowns, feature seven new players and a new assistant coach (Brittany Campbell) on this year's roster.
The newcomers will join a pair of returning starters, in redshirt junior point guard Emily Frazier and senior post player Jasmine Gardner. Also back in the fold are past Big South All-Freshman team honorees Reagan Miller and Ashley Rininger.
Liberty is preparing for the earliest season opener in program history, a Nov. 8 contest at Charlotte. The Lady Flames will then return to the Vines Center on Nov. 12 for their 2013-14 home opener against James Madison.
