Leading into each weekend's football match-up, the Flames Sports Network will release a video preview package, taking an in-depth look into Liberty's upcoming opponent.
During this week's FSN Opponent Preview, Nick Pierce of the Flames Sports Network takes a look at Liberty's game with James Madison, which features two nationally ranked teams.
The game is one of two in the country that features a pair of nationally ranked FCS foes. Liberty comes into the weekend ranked No. 22 in the Sports Network poll and No. 20 in the FCS Coaches listing, while James Madison is No. 13 and 14, respectively, in the same polls.
Liberty will be looking to snap a five-game skid against the Dukes on Saturday. The two teams have met five times since the 2000 season, with Liberty only reaching double figures on the scoreboard during one of the five meetings (24-10 loss in Lynchburg on Sept. 26, 2009). Overall, James Madison leads the series, 11-5, with Liberty's last win over the Dukes coming on Nov. 7, 1992 in Harrisonburg, Va. (34-31).
Liberty will be putting the fourth-longest FCS home winning streak in the country on the line when the Flames take to the Williams Stadium turf on Saturday. Liberty has reeled off nine-straight victories inside of Williams Stadium, with its last loss coming at the hands of No. 6 James Madison on Sept. 26, 2009.
