
Simpson Named Area All-Decade Player

Liberty Flames senior tennis player Chad Simpson has been selected The News-Gazette of Danville, Ill. Tennis Player of the Decade. The honor was announced yesterday.
Simpson, a graduate of Danville High School in 2006, was also named to the News and Gazette's Area Boys' tennis all-decade team. While at Danville, he earned all-state status four times and placed seventh in singles in the state his senior year, the highest placing by a Danville player in the last 38 years. He was also the area player of the year twice.
The past three seasons, Simpson has played in one of the top three spots in the Liberty men's tennis line-up. This season, he is serving as one of the Flames' team captains.
