New Scoreboard Installed at Softball Field

The Lady Flames softball team not only experienced a sweep of Norfolk State in Thursday's home opener, but they did so with a brand new scoreboard in the outfield.
The new board replaces the one that was installed in 2001, and measures at 18' by 10'. The electronically-based unit features running score, inning totals and ball and strike counts. It is painted navy blue and is highlighted by a Liberty Flames logo.
The new scoreboard marks the third facility improvement since 2005, when the 37' netted backstop was installed. In 2007, two new batting cages and two pitching bullpens were added beyond the center field fence.
The scoreboard had a good opening day, reflecting back-to-back Liberty victories, 4-0 and 3-1.
