
Lady Flames Defeat Campbell

The Liberty Flames women's tennis team took four of six singles matches to capture a 4-3 victory over the Campbell Fighting Camels, Friday.
Liberty, 2-3 on the young season, fell behind 1-0 in the match after being edged two matches to one, in doubles competition. The Lady Flames' No. 2 pairing of Hannah Fick and Stephanie Brown dominated its doubles contest, topping Bianca Sconz and Anais Gomar of Campbell, 8-0. However, the Camels were able to claim wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to capture the doubles point.
In singles, the Lady Flames won four of the six matches to take the match victory. Jordan Jenkins at No. 1, Nadia Solomon-Burgess at No. 3 and Fick at No. 5 each won straight-set matches for Liberty. In her No. 2 singles contest, Lais Souza took the first set from Ana Sumladze, 6-1, before dropping the second set, 6-3. In the third and deciding set, Souza won 6-2.
