The Liberty Flames men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Campbell Camels, Friday. The setback snapped the Flames' three-game winning streak.
The Flames, who move to 3-2 on the year, fell behind in the match, 1-0, as the Camels won two of the three matches in doubles competition. The Liberty combination of Gregorio Marchado and Chad Simpson defeated the Campbell pairing of Loukas Wallaart and Jeroen Kuppens, 8-6, in the No. 2 doubles match. However, it was the only Flames victory in doubles, as Campbell claimed both the No. 1 and No. 3 matches.
In singles, Liberty got a victory from Juan Reyes in No. 6 singles for its lone win, as its host took five of the six matches. Reyes dropped the first set of his match with Kuppens, 6-3, but rallied to take the second set, 7-5, and the tiebreaker, 1-0 (2), for the victory.
