Summer Facility Upgrades

As the summer continues, a variety of different athletics facility upgrades are taking place on Liberty Mountain. Below is a list by facility of different upgrades that have been completed, or will take place before the students return in August.
Williams Stadium
• Railing installed along the end sections on both sides of the stadium for safety concerns. This will enclose the seating area.
• The pavement in the stadium will be sealcoated. This has not been done in a number of years.
• Additional scoreboard will be installed above the east side concession stand.
• New LED Delay of Game Timers on field.
• 1,000 additional bleacher seats to be rented for upcoming season.
• 198 additional blue seats to be added to premium seating area.
• Awnings to be installed above the doorways at the south end zone field house.
• Six luxury suites to be delivered and installed by August 16.
• Additional flag poles on top of press box.
Vines Center
• Floor resurfaced with lanes painted in red – LIBERTY on baselines.
• Benches will be switched to the opposite side of the court (in front of the premium & reserved seats).
• Installation of new Spalding Slam-Dunk Precision 180 Basketball Goals with SuperGlass Pro Backboards. This is the same goal the entire NBA is using. There will be a red light around the backboard that will flash on a shot clock violation and at the end of each half.
• Renovation of Vines Center weight room and training room.
Worthington Stadium
• Indoor batting cages painted.
• Renovation of training/laundry room area.
• New weight room flooring.
Softball
• Office area and locker room area renovated in the spring of 2008.
• Underpinning and steps to building to be replaced.
• New inning-by-inning scoreboard to be installed prior to 2009 season.
