Flames Club Hosts Priority Seating Event
7/11/2008 12:00:00 AM | General
On Thursday, in historic fashion, Liberty Athletics offered Flames Club members priority seating and parking for football and basketball based on the Flames Club Priority Points system.
The points system was implemented this year, rewarding loyalty and dollars contributed. Members at the Director's Level ($2,500) and higher, enjoyed the privilege of personally selecting their seats at Williams Stadium today.
"Excitement about Liberty Football and Liberty Athletics in general continues to reach new levels," commented Bob Good, Director of Development and the Flames Club. "The demand for football season tickets and the corresponding increase in financial support for our athletics program has led us to the place where we needed to implement true priority seating. Just a few years ago, it would have been hard to imagine that we would have the number of people who are now supporting us at such significant levels. Today was a historic day at Williams Stadium, and we are thankful to all of our Flames Club members who are helping to continue building our program."
Those donors had individual time slots scheduled to visit the press box throughout the day, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Refreshments were served in the press box, which was decorated with all eight Big South Championship trophies the Flames won this past season, including the Big South Sasser Cup. A highlight video of last season's Big South football championship team played as well, as donors waited to make their selections.
The Flames Club Priority Points system, which was put in place this season, gives members points based on dollars contributed, season ticket purchases and consecutive years of membership.
