Tori (Victoria) Collar was hired as Liberty Women's Soccer Assistant Coach in Jan. 2024. Collar, a former Lady Flame from 2013-17, came from High Point where she served as an assistant coach for two seasons (2022-23). She primarily works with goalkeepers while contributing to the program as a whole.
In Collar's first season at Liberty, she helped lead Liberty to a 15-2-4 record (6-1-2 CUSA) and a finish as runners-up in the Conference USA Championship title game. Liberty picked up a historic 2-1 victory at No. 21 Virginia Tech, securing the program's first victory over a ranked opponent. The Lady Flames also achieved its first-ever national ranking, slotting in at No. 24. Goalkeeper Grace Workman was selected to the CUSA All-Conference second team with an 11-2-2 record, five goals allowed and a 0.43 goals-against average (GAA). She finished No. 6 in the country and led the CUSA with a 0.435 GAA. Workman and Peyton Huber combined for 11 shutouts and a 0.62 GAA with 13 total goals allowed.
Collar played a total of 13 games as a goalkeeper during her time at Liberty, making 27 saves. She graduated from Liberty with a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2016 and an MBA in 2018.
After graduating from Liberty, Collar worked with the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club, a faith-based soccer organization, as the Goalkeeper Director. In addition, Collar served as the Goalkeeper Coach and Ministry Director for the Charlotte Lady Eagles WPSL team. In their inaugural year, Collar helped lead the Lady Eagles to become regional finalists in 2019 as well as conference champions in 2021 and regional semifinalists in 2022.
Collar also trained goalkeepers from top programs such as Mississippi State, Louisville, Illinois, Cincinnati and Charlotte.
Collar joined High Point in August 2022 as an assistant coach. In her first season, the Panthers earned a 5-10-3 record as the goalkeepers recorded a 1.72 goals-against average and a .687 save percentage. In 2023, Collar led an improved High Point team to a 6-5-7 record and the goalkeepers secured a 1.17 GAA and a .781 save percentage.
