Flames Men’s Basketball Announces Non-Conference Slate For 2026-27 Season

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames men's basketball team has announced its 14-game non-conference schedule, completing its full 2026-27 season slate.
Liberty's non-conference schedule features a marquee home matchup with Dayton on Dec. 19. The Flames will also take on High Point in the season opener, Nov. 2 at midnight in Rock Hill, S.C. in the Field of 68 Showcase. The contest will serve as the first college basketball game of the 2026-27 season to be played in the United States.
The Flames will face three strong opponents in Princeton (Nov. 25), St. Thomas (Nov. 27) and UNCW (Nov. 28) at the Live Oak Bank Holiday Classic, hosted by UNCW in late November. Prior to that, Liberty will take on Rhode Island (Nov. 20) and Richmond (Nov. 22) at the Greenbrier Tip-Off in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
Liberty's home opener will be versus Boyce on Nov. 6 at Liberty Arena. The Flames will also host NC Central (Nov. 13), Christendom (Dec. 5), Kentucky Christian (Dec. 11), Coppin State (Dec. 17) and Maryland Eastern Shore (Dec. 22). Additionally, Liberty will square off with Southern Illinois in a neutral-site game, Nov. 17 at Queens in Charlotte, N.C.
The Flames come into the 2026-27 campaign as the two-time defending Conference USA outright regular season champions. The Flames have claimed 11 total titles over the last eight seasons – two CUSA regular-season crowns, one CUSA Championship titles, three ASUN Championship crowns, four ASUN regular-season titles and an ASUN division title. Liberty has posted a 203-66 combined record over the past eight years. The Flames' 203 victories are sixth most in the nation during that span.
Liberty enters its fourth season in Conference USA this upcoming year. The Flames announced their CUSA schedule on July 9. Liberty will play 18 CUSA contests and 14 non-conference games, followed by the 2027 CUSA Men's Basketball Championship (March 9-13 in Huntsville, Ala.).
