Greg Horne joined the Liberty Athletics staff as the Assistant Director of Compliance in March 2026.
As a member of the Compliance staff, Horne currently works with Liberty’s men’s soccer, field hockey, women’s basketball, softball and men’s tennis programs.
Prior to coming to the Mountain, Horne served at the Virginia Military Institute from November 2023 through February 2026, most recently holding the position of Director of Compliance.
During his time at VMI, Horne contributed to a broad range of compliance operations, including rules education, recruiting monitoring, eligibility certification processes, and the oversight of student-athlete participation and CARA documentation.
Horne graduated from Emory & Henry College in May 2023 with a degree in Business Administration and Sport Management.
While at Emory & Henry, he was also a Division III student-athlete during the 2019–20 academic year as a member of the men’s soccer program. This experience helped shape his commitment to supporting the student-athlete experience and guided his pursuit of a career in intercollegiate athletics.
In his current role at Liberty, Horne assists with the department’s day-to-day compliance operations, including legislative interpretations, rules education programming for coaches and student-athletes, and monitoring systems to ensure adherence to NCAA Division I bylaws and Conference policies. He is dedicated to fostering an atmosphere of integrity, accountability, and institutional responsibility within Liberty Athletics.
