Erin Hagen has been a member of the Liberty Athletics Senior Staff team since being named Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator in May 2013. She was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration in 2020 and Chief Regulatory Officer in 2023.
In her role, Hagen leads multiple areas including direct oversight of the department’s NCAA Compliance operations, Title IX-Gender Equity and Degree Completion Award Program. She also serves as the liaison to the CUSA Conference office, the Liberty University Department of Housing, Office of Community Life and The Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
Hagen serves as the sport program administrator for women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis and volleyball.
In the fall of 2017, Hagen developed and launched the department’s professional development program titled Flames Development. The program provides monthly opportunities comprised of both external and internal speakers for all athletics staff to grow both personally and professionally Subsequently, in the fall of 2019, Hagen launched the Lady Flames’ Connection aimed at providing opportunities for the department’s female staff to connect and grow.
Hagen began her career in athletics administration in 2008 serving as the Director of Compliance and was involved with the day-to-day operations of the NCAA compliance office, specifically financial aid and eligibility.
Hagen is a 2004 graduate of Liberty University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. She was a four-year letterwinner for the Liberty volleyball program and was named the 2002 Big South Championship MVP and was voted the 2003 Big South Player of the Year. She was a two-time first team All-Big South Conference selection and VaSID first-team selection.
Upon graduating in 2004, Hagen joined the Lady Flames' volleyball coaching staff as a graduate assistant. Hagen served in that role for two years and graduated with her master's degree in business administration in 2006. In July 2006, Hagen accepted a head volleyball coaching position at San Diego Christian College, in El Cajon, Calif.
Hagen, a native of Arizona, resides in Lynchburg with her husband Mike, Liberty University's Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Engagement and Development, and their daughter Emery and son Duke.
