Andrew Long assumed his current role as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in July 2026.
In his current role, he designs and implements year-round strength and conditioning program for Liberty baseball student-athlete. He leads daily team and small group training sessions focused on improving strength, power, speed, agility, mobility and overall athletic performance.
His other duties include: individualized training programs, performance testing, movement assessments, data analysis and collaboration with athletic trainers, coaches, nutritionists and other performance personnel. Finally, Long seeks to foster a positive, disciplined and competitive training culture that emphasizes accountability, leadership and athlete development.
Prior to coming to Liberty, Long served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Clemson (2024-26), working with the softball, men’s and women’s golf, cross country and baseball programs. In 2023, he served as an intern at Clemson, assisting with baseball, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, track & field, softball and lacrosse. He was also a Graduate Assistant at Cal State, Chico from 2022-24, serving the baseball, softball, volleyball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and track & field programs. In 2022, he was an intern at CSU Sacramento, working with football, baseball and volleyball. In 2021, he was an intern at Butte College, working with basketball, football and baseball.
Long earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology: movement studies from Cal State, Chico in May 2022. He went on to earn a master’s degree in kinesiology: biomechanics from Cal State, Chico in May 2024.
Long played baseball and was a catcher for Butte College in Oroville, Calif. from 2018-20. Originally from Orland, Fla., he currently resides in Lynchburg. Long is engaged to Natalie Phillips.
