• Graduated from Providence Senior High School
• At the North Carolina 4A outdoor state meet as a junior, won the 4 x 400 relay while placing second in the 4 x 200 and 300 hurdles
• Later that season, helped her team place ninth in the Swedish relay at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals and take 11th in the 4 x 400 relay
• Top times included 56.35 (400), 1:18.50 (500), 44.18 (300 hurdles) and 1:01.78 (400 hurdles)
