Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
I knew Liberty was the right place for me because of the combination of highly competitive athletics, a high standard of academic excellence, and the biblical foundation that is evident throughout the campus. It was very important for me to find a place where my faith would be cultivated, as well as my academic and athletic endeavors, and Liberty was the perfect place where all those came together.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
Before every meet, I write Jeremiah 29:11 on the inside of my wrist as a reminder that God‘s plans are greater than my own. Listening to some good music is also a meet day essential.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
The most inspirational person in my life is my mom because of her selflessness and work ethic. She is always working hard and chasing after goals, and she has always inspired me to be a better athlete and person.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
My most memorable athletic moment is PR-ing in the last throw of the last meet of my senior year.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
My brother Austen is a quarterback at Davidson College. My mom played field hockey at Kings College. My dad played football at Fordham University. My uncle played baseball at the University of Georgia. My other uncle played football for Holy Cross and then was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
My favorite meal is lunch, and my favorite thing to eat at lunch is a sandwich made by my grandma.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
Messages
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
I love to fish, hike, bike, and just be outside in nature.
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
I have one dog, she’s a chocolate lab and her name is Lucy.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Eli Manning
What is your favorite possession and why?
My cross necklace, because I got it in the second grade and have worn it almost every day since.
What is your go-to karaoke song?
“Honey Honey” by ABBA
What is your dream vacation spot and why?
Italy, because that’s where my family is from and because the landscape is beautiful and the food is famously good.
