• Graduated from Metrolina Christian Academy
• Won the 2010 NCISAA 1A/2A state title in the 200, while placing third in the 100
• The next year, he was third in both the 100 and 200 at the 2011 NCISAA 1A/2A state meet
• Recorded times of 11.24 in the 100, 22.84 in the 200 and 20-0 in the long jump
• Played club football for the Carolina Pride for four years, earning first team All-CCAA honors at defensive back in 2010
