Big South Preseason All-Conference
An Inside Look from the Coaching Staff: Is coming off a solid offseason … will provide senior leadership in the defensive backfield … agile athlete who is a “ball hawk” according to the coaching staff … plays physical football.
2010 (R-Jr.): Started all 11 games … helped the Flames finish the season ranked No. 20 nationally in rushing defense … also led the Big South and ranked No. 19 in the country in total defense (309.18 yards allowed per game) and No. 27 in scoring defense (20.81 points per game) … posted a season-best five solo tackles at Robert Morris … finished five games with multiple tackles, recording two tackles against St. Francis, Pa., Ball State, Charleston Southern and Gardner-Webb.
2009 (R-So.): Big South first-team all-conference … saw playing time in all 11 games and started the last two games of the season … tied for 10th a the team in total tackles (37) … ranked second in the Big South and No. 19 nationally with five interceptions … posted an interception in four-straight games … … was largely responsible for Liberty finishing the year ranked No. 16 nationally in total interceptions (17) … finished six games with four or more tackles … four tackles against Charleston Southern with a season-long 34 yard interception return … finished the last two games of the season with a tackle for a loss in each … had a career day against Gardner-Webb with seven tackles, to go along with a tackle for a loss, a forced fumble and a pass breakup … helped Liberty finish the year ranked No. 25 in scoring defense (19.09), No. 22 in fumbles recovered (12), No. 1 in turnover margin (1.89) and No. 5 in turnovers gained (29).
2008 (R-Fr.): Gained valuable playing experience by playing in all 12 games of Liberty’s Big South championship season … finished the year with eight tackles … five solo and three assisted … opened the year strong with three stops, including two assisted tackles, during his first collegiate game against North Greenville … added two tackles, one solo and another assisted, the following week against Glenville State … finished the Presbyterian game with two solo stops … added a solo tackle against Gardner-Webb.
2007 (Fr.): Redshirted.
Prep: Graduated from Heritage High School … two-year letterwinner … recorded 40 tackles, seven pass break ups and six interceptions as a junior … added 15 catches for 251 yards and two touchdowns during his junior year … All-Peninsula District honorable-mention selection as a junior … capped off his high school career by posting 56 tackles, nine interceptions, four pass break ups, two forced fumbles and a defensive touchdown as a senior … added 19 catches for 347 yards and two touchdowns during his senior year … All-Peninsula District first-team defensive back selection and All- Peninsula District second-team wide receiver selection.
