Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
When I visited Liberty in the spring of my high school junior year, I had a sense of peace and a feeling that it was the place I was supposed to be. It was a place where I could get a solid education and be a part of an upcoming program. There was something about being at Liberty University that felt right. I couldn’t describe it, but I just knew I was supposed to be here.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
I listen to worship music pregame. It helps keep me calm before the game starts.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My parents inspire me because they work so hard and sacrifice so much for our family. They show me how to carry myself through life and how to treat people. My dad is the hardest working man I know, and he’s worked his tail off to provide for and protect my family. He’s been a great example of a genuine person who loves others.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
One of my most memorable athletic experiences was winning the PA state championship my senior year with the guys who I grew up playing football with since I was 7 years old.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
During my second year of football, when I was 8 years old, I got the number 55. I used the number in my years of high school. The first 3 seasons I had used #51 because #55 was being used, but when I got the chance to wear it at Liberty I jumped at the opportunity.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
My grandpa (Dad’s side), who I am named after, played basketball at the University of Duquesne in Pittsburgh where I am from. My grandpa (Mom’s side) played baseball at Notre Dame and a little in the minor league.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
Dinner is my favorite meal of the day. My favorite dinner is my mom’s spaghetti and meatballs. I have a lot of Italian heritage on my mom’s side, and she uses a family recipe.
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
I play guitar.
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
I have a bird named Jax.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Ben Roethlisberger.
What is your favorite possession and why?
A little wooden cross that my dad gave me when I was in high school.
What is your Go-To karaoke song?
Wagon Wheel by Darrius Rucker
What is your dream vacation spot and why?
Italy is my dream vacation because I have a lot of family heritage there.
