Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
Liberty had everything I wanted academically, athletically, and spiritually. The Honors program will challenge me and help me develop deep relationships with professors. Running with a team of Christian guys will help me grow spiritually and encourage me athletically.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
Pre-race, I plan my race out and set goals for the day. I also lead the team in drills, prayer, and a cheer.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My high school coach Mindy Kaufman, for believing in me and contributing to my growth as an athlete and an individual.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
Traveling to the Tiger Invitational in South Pasadena, CA with my coach and another athlete, where I unexpectedly won the 3200m and ran a PR.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
17, because it’s prime.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
My mother; also, my twin brother Bjorn is playing golf at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
Olive Garden's shrimp alfredo, because I always have it the night before travel races.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
Excel Spreadsheets to see what my workout is.
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
Coding
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Payton Manning
What is your favorite possession and why?
My handmade Bible study journals
What is your go-to karaoke song?
“The Bird Hunters” by Turnpike Troubadours
