Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, September 30, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
After getting an unexpected off week, the Flames football team has some extra time to prepare for it's next game. Saturday's scheduled meeting between Liberty and App State was canceled due to catastrophic flooding and damage caused from Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina. The Flames' next game is set for Tuesday, October 8th when 4-0 Liberty hosts 2-3 FIU in a Conference USA match-up at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg.
Also, with Georgia's loss to Alabama over the weekend, Liberty now owns the longest current regular season win streak in the country at 16 straight.
And the Lady Flames volleyball team is off to a 2-0 start in Conference USA. Liberty swept a pair of matches on the road at Louisiana Tech over the weekend. Friday, the Lady Flames topped the Bulldogs in four sets. Then, on Saturday, Liberty swept LA Tech in three straight. At 8-6 overall, Liberty's won four of it's last five.
