Time now for today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, January 22, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Recapping the weekend, the Flames men's basketball team got it's second straight Conference USA win on Saturday. Liberty downed Sam Houston, 82-66 at Liberty Arena in Lynchburg. The Flames are now 2-3 in CUSA after losing their first three conference games.
The Lady Flames also topped the Bearkats on Saturday as Liberty picked up an 84-77 win at Sam Houston. Emma Hess dropped a career-high 30 for the Lady Flames. It's also the first road CUSA win for Liberty.
On to swimming and diving, the Lady Flames picked up a dual meet win at VMI on Saturday. Liberty won every event at the meet.
And the Flames men's tennis team sweeps a pair of matches at home. Sunday, Liberty downed Radford, 7-0 and then topped George Mason, 6-1. The Flames won every singles match on the day and improved to 2-1 in the spring season.
