Liberty vs. Coastal Carolina Matchup Moved to Thursday Night

The Big South Conference announced earlier today it is has moved Liberty's regular season finale against Coastal Carolina to Nov. 19, a Thursday night football matchup at Williams Stadium.
The game will be nationally televised on ESPNEWS, marking the first time a Liberty football game has aired on one of the main ESPN networks. Kickoff for the game is set for 7 p.m.
"We are thrilled to showcase one of the most important FCS games of the year on ESPNEWS," said Big South Commissioner Kyle Kallander. "We are grateful for the support of our long-time partner ESPN, and their recognition of the high quality of play in the Big South Conference. This game always has bearing on the conference championship and postseason play, so it should be a tremendous night on national television."
Coastal Carolina and Liberty were predicted to finish first and second in the Big South preseason poll, and are nationally ranked in the preseason top 25 polls.
Liberty enters the year ranked No. 14 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 15 in the STATS FCS Preseason Top 25 listing. Coastal Carolina ranks No. 5 in both national polls.
The two teams played in the regular-season finale in 2014 where Liberty defeated No. 1 Coastal Carolina, 15-14, at Brooks Stadium in Conway, S.C.
The Flames blocked a potential game winning field goal on the game's final play, giving Liberty its seventh Big South title and pushing the Flames into the NCAA FCS Playoffs for the first time in program history.
The Big South now has one of 10 regular-season FCS games on an ESPN linear network this year - beginning with the official FCS Kickoff telecast of North Dakota State at Montana on Aug. 29 at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN.
The Liberty vs. Coastal Carolina game replaces the conference's previously announced "Wildcard" selection from the weekend of Nov. 21. The Big South's remaining Wildcard selection will be for games scheduled the weekend of Nov. 14.
While season tickets and Flames Club membership are tracking at record levels with two weeks remaining until Liberty's home opener against Delaware State on Sept. 5, outstanding seats are still available.
