For the first time, Liberty will host a USA Track & Field (USATF) Officials Clinic Feb. 20 in the Williams Football Operations Center. The clinic will last from 1-6 p.m.
The purpose of the clinic is to assist Virginia High School League (VHSL) coaches, meet planners and USATF and VHSL officials in the proper conduct of high school, intercollegiate and USATF Association track & field competition for the 2011 season in a fair and consistent manner. The classes will stress the fundamentals of track officiating, rules changes from all three rule books, national mechanics, points of emphasis and tips of the trade.
The instructional committee is composed of experienced USATF and VHSL master officials. The VHSL has approved the clinic and attendance will meet the annual clinic attendance requirements for the 2011 season. VHSL attendance cards will be forwarded to VHSL upon conclusion of the clinic.
The cost of each clinic will be $25 for early registration and $35 at the door. (Please see the link at the top of this page to download an early registration form.) Included in the cost is a Consolidated Rules & Officials Manual, VHSL Rule Book inserts and other significant printed material.
