Liberty Hosts Furman in 1st SoCon Home Match

LYNCHBURG, VA. – After five consecutive road matches, the Liberty Flames men's soccer team returns home to host the Furman Paladins (3-1-4, 1-0) in Liberty's (2-4-2, 0-1) first-ever Southern Conference (SoCon) home match on Saturday. The kickoff at Osborne Stadium is scheduled for 5 p.m.

- Liberty and Furman will meet for the first time on the soccer pitch since 2004 on Saturday.
- The contest will be the Flames' first-ever SoCon home match in program history. Liberty joined the conference this season.
- Liberty will play its second home match of the season on Saturday. The Flames fell to FGCU 3-2 in their only home match on Aug. 28.

- Tyler Beck received his first start in goal on Tuesday. Beck gave up two goals over the 90 minutes in the draw.
- Dan Rose was the Liberty goalkeeper for the first seven matches of the season. The goalkeeper has posted a 2.00 goals-against average and a .562 save percentage.
- At the beginning of the month, Liberty midfielder Javan Ochieng was called up to the Kenya National Team.
- The Flames have players from 13 different countries and six different continents.
- Liberty head coach Scott Wells is in his first season with the Flames. He previously coached at Gardner-Webb, leading the Runnin' Bulldogs to the Big South Conference Championship in 2024.
