
Lady Flames Rally Past Fairfield in 4 Sets

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Liberty bounced back from a set-one loss, rallying for a four-set (19-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-22) victory over Fairfield, Saturday at David C. Mack Physical Education Center.
The Lady Flames (6-4) posted a 2-1 record this weekend at the Hofstra Invitational against a field which went a combined 66-19 last season. Fairfield, which won the 2025 MAAC Championship, falls to 4-4 on the season. The Stags swept Army last night before falling to the Lady Flames today. Yesterday, Liberty was swept by Army before rallying from 2-0 down to beat Hofstra 3-2.

The Lady Flames return home for each of the next four matches, beginning next Thursday (6 p.m.) and Friday (5 p.m.) when they host North Alabama for a pair of contests on alumni weekend.

- Aislin Oldach led Fairfield with 11 kills, while Katelyn Cook collected 17 digs. Noella Migliuri posted a double-double with 15 assists and 12 digs, while Sophia Nagy and Harlan Wyche contributed five blocks each.
- Fairfield led the match 1-0 and held a 17-16 second-set lead. However, Layla Collins tied it with a kill, sparking Liberty to a 9-1 set-clinching run.
- After Liberty ran away with set three, 25-15, the Lady Flames found themselves in a 21-21 tie during the fourth set. Otts contributed to the next three points, with a kill, block assist and a solo block. Following a Fairfield sideout, Overcash's kill ended the match.
- Liberty leads Fiarfield 3-0 all-time, with the most recent meeting prior to today ending in a 3-0 Liberty sweep over the Stage, Sept. 13, 2014 in Providence, R.I.
