LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty men's tennis team claimed the No. 2 seed, while the women's squad slotted in as the No. 6 seed in the Conference USA Men's and Women's Tennis Championships in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The event begins with the women's bracket on Wednesday, with the men's tournament getting underway on Friday.
The Lady Flames (12-9) will take on No. 11 seed Missouri State (4-16) in the first round of the championship. The team will need four victories to claim the CUSA title. Liberty competed against a single CUSA Program this season, topping the tournament's No. 4 seed Delaware 7-0. Liberty seeks its first CUSA title, previously finishing as runners-up in 2024.
The men's team (13-9) will meet the winner of Friday's No. 3 seed Jacksonville State (17-3) against No. 6 seed New Mexico State (7-15) on Saturday. The Flames did not see a single CUSA opponent in the regular season. Liberty looks to claim its first CUSA Championship title after finishing as runners-up in each of the past two seasons.
