
Roothman, Vorwerk Named to the CUSA All-Academic Team

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Two Flames, Carl Roothman and Guy Vorwerk, have been selected to the 2026 Conference USA All-Academic team, the conference announced Friday.
Both athletes received their first-ever selection to an All-Academic team. Liberty received just one recipient last season.
Roothman, a senior, earned a cumulative 3.80 GPA in his major of finance. The South African was named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District team last season. The senior sports a 9-10 singles record this season and is currently on a three-match winning streak.
Vorwerk, a redshirt freshman, sports a 4.0 GPA in his major of biomedical sciences. He was named an ITA Scholar Athlete last season. The South African primarily competes in doubles, owning a 13-3 record this spring. He also sports a 3-2 singles mark.
The Flames prepare for their final match of the regular season before taking on the CUSA Men's Tennis Championship beginning Friday in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Roothman will be recognized as part of a Senior Day Ceremony before the match.
