
Men’s Tennis Hosts Richmond in Home Opener on Friday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty men's tennis team (0-2) will host Richmond at 5 p.m. in its first home match of the season from the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center. The match was originally set for Saturday, but was rescheduled due to forecasted inclement weather.
The team was originally scheduled to also take on Gardner-Webb this weekend, but that match was canceled on Wednesday.
The Liberty women's tennis team will be competing against Delaware prior to Friday's match. The meeting against Richmond will start soon after the conclusion of the contest.
Liberty seeks its first win of the season after battling on the road and coming up short 6-1 at Auburn and 5-2 at Georgia Tech. The Flames have been victorious in their last two home openers with wins over Radford (7-0, 2024) and Richmond (6-1, 2025).
The Flames are 7-11 all-time against the Spiders, previously topping Richmond 6-1 last season. Liberty has won four consecutive matches against Richmond.
