
Men’s Tennis Opens Spring Season with Pair of Road Matches

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty men's tennis team kicks off the spring tennis season with a match at Auburn at 11 AM ET Saturday and at Georgia Tech at 11 AM ET on Monday.
The Flames look to improve on a runner-up finish at the CUSA Championship following an 11-13 record.
Liberty returns five athletes from last season and will debut a pair of redshirt freshmen, Benjamin Sparks and Guy Vorwerk. The Flames welcome transfer addition, David Ekpenyong (Our Lady of the Lake), as a junior.
Included in the returners are last season's No. 2 singles player, Carl Roothman, No. 3 Siwanat Auytayakul and No. 4 Rodrigo Santiago Arraez. Ernst Gouws and Chase Robinson also look to continue to contribute.
The Flames have met Liberty just once, taking a loss in 2018, and are also 0-1 against Georgia Tech, suffering a defeat in 2017.
