MORGANTWON, W.Va. – Liberty raced to a 3-0 sweep (25-10, 25-20, 25-23) over North Dakota on Saturday at WVU Coliseum to wrap up each team's time at the West Virginia Invitational.
The Lady Flames (5-1) went 2-1 this weekend, while North Dakota (0-5) lost all three of its matches in Morgantown.
Liberty freshmen Alison Bierwagen and Laney Daniell were both named to the West Virginia Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The Lady Flames will play in the William & Mary Invitational, Friday and Saturday in Williamsburg, Va. While there, Liberty will face Norfolk State, East Carolina and William & Mary. Â

- Liberty outhit the Fighting Hawks .278-.032 for the match, also leading in kills (36-25), aces (6-5), digs (43-41) and blocks (6-4).
- Carly O'Brien and Paige Overcash tied for the Liberty team lead with nine kills apiece, while Overcash hit .643 for the match. Ali Bierwagen posted her third straight double-double with 24 assists and 10 digs, while Laney Daniell totaled five kills and a match-high five blocks. Zoe Hall scored a season-high eight kills at a .500 pace, while Molly Littlefield recorded match highs in aces (3) and digs (12).
- North Dakota's Paige Barber led all players with 11 kills, while Sadie White dished out 24 assists and Skylar Darr collected 11 digs.
- Liberty won sets one and two by a combined 20 points, but set three came down to the wire.
- The Lady Flames led 24-21 before the Fighting Hawks fought off two match points. However, Zoe Hall ended the match with a kill.
- Liberty leads North Dakota 1-0 in the all-time series, as today was the first meeting between the two teams. The last time the Lady Flames faced a team from the Summit League in volleyball was Aug. 25, 2018, a 3-1 loss at Purdue Fort Wayne.
- Liberty has posted three sweeps so far this season.
- Just six matches into her career, Daniell has posted four matches with five blocks each.
- Liberty is playing in West Virginia for the first time since competing in the 2013 West Virginia Invitational.Â
