
Liberty Opens Tribe Invite with 3-0 Sweep of Norfolk State

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Liberty volleyball team opened the Tribe Invitational with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-16) sweep of Norfolk State, Friday at Kaplan Arena.
With the win, its second sweep in a row, Liberty improves to 6-1 on the season. Meanwhile, the Spartans fall to 0-8.

- Liberty outhit Norfolk State .211-.157 for the match, also leading in kills (45-30) and aces (9-2), while the Spartans led in digs (60-58) and blocks.
- Carly O'Brien and Paige Overcash tied for the Liberty team lead with nine kills apiece, Paige Overcash led all players with 15 kills, while Jenna Otts followed with 10 kills. Alison Bierwagen registered 25 assists, three aces and 10 digs, while Zoe Hall scored a season-high nine kills, while Carly O'Brien totaled six kills, three aces and a career-high 18 digs. Shyia Richardson collected a season-high 12 digs.
