LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Women's tennis team and head coach Dash Connell have unveiled its 2025-26 schedule. The Lady Flames open their spring season against South Alabama and host new Conference USA member Delaware in their home opener on Jan. 23.
The Lady Flames aim to improve on a 12-13 record from last season, which saw Liberty reach the CUSA Championship semifinals. Liberty returns all but one player from last year's roster, including the additions of freshman Aranai Martinez and transfer Candy Wai (Tyler Junior College).
Liberty will open play this fall with a two-day hidden dual at Elon on Sept. 19 and 20 for the second consecutive year. The fall season consists of five scheduled tournaments, highlighted by the ITA Atlantic Regional from Oct. 16-21, hosted by Virginia Tech.
The Lady Flames start the spring with a trip to Auburn, Ala., where they will face South Alabama in a neutral-site match on Jan. 18. Liberty will face Auburn the next day on Jan. 19, who finished the 2025 season ranked No. 8 in the nation in the ITA National Rankings.
In addition to Auburn, the spring schedule consists of five other teams who finished the 2025 season ranked inside the Top 75 of the ITA National Rankings, including No. 40 Wake Forest (ACC), No. 49 Charlotte (American), No. 57 Memphis (American), No. 60 Wichita State (American) and No. 75 Marshall (Sun Belt).
The Lady Flames' spring schedule consists of seven home, nine away matches and three neutral-site matchups.
Liberty is set to face three in-state opponents next season. The team will be hosting Longwood (March 24) and traveling to William and Mary (March 29) and Richmond (April 10) at the Liberty Tennis Complex.
The Lady Flames' 2026 opponents collected an overall 265-192 record with a .579 winning percentage last season. The team looks forward to avenging five defeats, holding a 2-5 record against programs they met last spring.
Liberty concludes the 2026 spring season at the CUSA Women's Tennis Championship hosted by Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn., from April 15-19.
