In preparation for next week's CUSA Football Kickoff event, Conference USA has released its 2025 Preseason Watch List and Bowl Confidence List.
Liberty had five players named to the 2025 CUSA Preseason Watch List, as did each of the 12 schools in the league. The list was selected by the head coach of each school.
Liberty's five players named to the list include tight end Jacob Jenkins, offensive lineman D.J. Geth, defensive tackle Bryce Dixon, safety A'Khori Jones and punter Max Morgan.
Additionally, Liberty, along with WKU, sat atop CUSA's inaugural Bowl Confidence List. The voting panel, made up of the league's communications directors and media outlets, believes both the Flames and the Hilltoppers have a 100 percent likelihood of making a bowl game in 2025.
Conference USA had five teams participate in bowl games in 2024: WKU (Boca Raton Bowl vs. James Madison), Sam Houston (New Orleans Bowl vs. Georgia Southern), Jax State (Cure Bowl vs. Ohio), LA Tech (Independence Bowl vs. Army) and Liberty (Bahamas Bowl vs. Buffalo).
In 2025, the voting panel believes four of Conference USA's 12 members will be bowl eligible at the end of the season: Liberty (100 percent), WKU (100 percent), Jax State (91.67 percent) and LA Tech (75.00 percent).
League newcomers Delaware and Missouri State are in Year Two of their transition from FCS to FBS and are not eligible for bowl games under standard NCAA policy. However, either school could become bowl eligible if there are not enough fully eligible FBS teams to fill all postseason spots.
Conference USA will hold its annual CUSA Football Kickoff event on Tuesday, July 22, in Frisco, Texas, at the PGA of America Headquarters.
Offensive lineman Aaron Fenimore and safety Brylan Green, both CUSA All-Conference honorees in 2024, along with Flames Head Coach Jamey Chadwell will be at the event.
