LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty's Daniel Van Duren highlighted a light opening day of action at the WildCat Invitational on Friday, placing sixth in the men's javelin.
Van Duren's best mark of 145-0 came on his second attempt and was less than three feet off the decathlete's season best.
Competing unattached, Liberty's Jake Nicholson won the competition with a 167-2 performance.
