LYNCHBURG, Va. – After making a successful Liberty debut, Troy McKnight has been recognized as CUSA Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
A redshirt senior from Dallas, Texas, McKnight is completing his final season of eligibility for the Flames after transferring from Little Rock. He excelled at Saturday's outdoor season-opening Bob Davidson Team Challenge, placing second in the men's 100 (10.37) and third in the 4 x 100 relay (40.50).
McKnight's 100 clocking ranks No. 2 in CUSA and No. 27 nationally during the early stages of the outdoor campaign. It also puts McKnight at No. 9 in program history after his first meet as a Flame.
McKnight ran the backstretch of the Flames' 4 x 100 relay, which also included Eddy Vu, Revell Webster and Omari Lewis. Liberty recorded CUSA's fastest time of 2025 thus far, and the quartet ranks No. 8 all-time for the Flames.
Liberty will send athletes to two different meets this week, including the Raleigh Relays (Thursday through Saturday at NC State) and the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational (Friday and Saturday at the University of Lynchburg).
