No. 10 Clemson Snaps Liberty's 4-Game Win Streak 6-4
3/11/2025 11:03:00 PM | Baseball
Trailing 6-2 in the top of the eighth inning, Liberty plated two runs on a single by second baseman Cal Early and a fielder's choice by center fielder Michael Robertson. The Flames brought the go-ahead run to the plate to hit in the inning with two out and runners on the corners, but Tigers' reliever Lucas Mahlstedt ended the threat by retiring the hitter to preserve the Clemson advantage.
Liberty got on the scoreboard first on a solo home run by right fielder Camden Troyer in the top of the second inning, only to see Clemson answer with four runs in the bottom of the inning on two two-run home runs, both with two outs, to take a 4-1 lead. The Tigers then added single runs in the third and fourth innings to extend their advantage to 6-1 before the Flames rallied.
Troyer had two hits, a triple and a home run, two RBI and two runs scored to lead the Flames.
Liberty drops to 11-5 on the year. Clemson runs its record to 16-1. The Tigers have won 14 in a row.
