- Liberty (6-2, 0-0 CUSA) will play host to A-10 preseason favorite Richmond (7-3, 1-0 A-10) on Saturday for the Lady Flames' lone December home game.
- The Lady Flames are just 4-23 all-time when facing the Spiders, having lost the last three meetings. Liberty is seeking its first victory over Richmond in 12 years (Dec. 3, 2013).Â
- Liberty has won a season-best four games in a row, including two against A-10 foes (Duquesne and George Mason). The Lady Flames came back from as many as 12 down to win 74-73 at George Mason on Sunday.
- Avery Mills led the way to the dramatic victory at George Mason, tying her career high of 24 points. Four of those came during the game's final 8.2 seconds, including a tying triple and the winning free throw.
- Fellow sophomore Emmy Stout added a season-best 22 points and a career-high five assists at George Mason. She has scored in double figures in all eight games this season.
- Liberty has not been outrebounded for 20 straight games, dating back to last season. Ify Nwaobi has collected double-digit boards in six straight contests.
- Richmond is the only A-10 team who has ever visited Liberty Arena. The Spiders spoiled the Lady Flames' 2022-23 season opener with a 69-48 decision on Nov. 7, 2022. That is one of only 10 defeats (in 78 contests) the Lady Flames have suffered at the facility. No current Lady Flame played in that contest, although assistant Emma Hess scored three points in the opening game of her sophomore campaign.
- Liberty is predicted for a runner-up finish in CUSA, while Richmond was tabbed the A-10 preseason favorite and was ranked No. 24 in the AP preseason Top 25.
- The Spiders went 28-7 last season and took down Georgia Tech in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. That makes Richmond one of 10 squads among Liberty's 11-team non-conference schedule which posted a winning record in 2024-25.Â
- Liberty is seeking its first victory over Richmond since Dec. 3, 2013, when Emily Frazier and Reagan Miller combined for 33 points during a 76-61 triumph at the Vines Center.
- Liberty will have to deal with Richmond's Maggie Doogan. The reigning A-10 Player of the Year ranks among the top 10 nationally with 23.1 ppg this season. She has tallied 1,653 career points, including 27 in two matchups with the Lady Flames. That is more than Liberty's entire roster (1,533) has scored during their collegiate careers combined.
- Liberty is 11-18 all-time when playing against Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) opponents, including 4-3 at home (0-1 at Liberty Arena).
- After facing only two total A-10 foes during the last six seasons (2019-20 through 2024-25), the Lady Flames are closing out a stretch where three out of four contests have come against A-10 opponents.
- The Lady Flames defeated Duquesne 67-60 on Nov. 29 at the Navy Classic and won 74-73 at George Mason on Sunday.
- Liberty has never defeated three A-10 opponents during the same season in program history.Â
- Prior to this year, the Lady Flames had recorded a pair of A-10 victories during the same season twice (2007-08 - Xavier and Richmond and 2014-15 - VCU and Saint Joseph's). Liberty went on to reach the NCAA Tournament both years.
- Richmond is the last of four in-state opponents on Liberty's 2025-26 schedule. The Lady Flames previously lost 74-61 at James Madison on Nov. 12, defeated UVA Wise 80-35 on Nov. 26 and won 74-73 at George Mason on Sunday.
- The Lady Flames are now 13-5 in their last 18 meetings with Commonwealth foes.
- Liberty recorded a dramatic 74-73 win at defending A-10 champion George Mason on Sunday.
- Avery Mills led the way with 24 points (tying her career high). During the game's final 8.2 seconds, she knocked down the tying three-pointer, stole an inbounds pass and then hit the game-winning free throw at the 0.6 second mark.
- Emmy Stout (season-high 22 points) and Mills became the first Liberty duo to score 20+ points in a game since March 9, 2024 at WKU (Emma Hess - 22 and Bella Smuda - 21).
- Elisabeth Aegisdottir tallied all of her season-high 10 points during the fourth quarter as Liberty overcame a 70-62 deficit midway through the stanza.Â
